Storz Fittings

Serving The Needs Of
The Fire Protection Industry Since 2011

  • Dependable – Proven by independent testing to be superior to any Storz connection on the market.
  • Stronger –  Forged monolithic construction. Innovative design reduces number of components used in assembly. Eliminates the use of dissimilar metals/sub-assemblies which alleviates galvanic concerns.
  • Lighter – All aluminum construction for ease of handling and installation.
  • Longer Lasting – Hardcoat anodizing provides superior wear protection and durability.
  • Easier to Maintain – External clean out ports eject debris away from the waterway and can be serviced without opening cap.
  • Cost Advantage – Unit cost competitive with offshore or globally-sourced alternatives, yet provides lower cost of ownership over an extended service life.
  • Patent Pending Design – Developed, tested and submitted for patent protection in North America and international markets.
  • Less Prone to Vandalism – Tamper-resistant design requires the use of spanner wrench to operate. Hydrant Storz connections eliminate the use of the bronze nozzle with significantly reduces the incentive to be removed.
  • Made in USA – 100% domestic supply chain utilizing ISO-certified, family owned and operated manufacturers.
  • Highest Quality – Components are machined complete in one set-up utilizing highly automated advance CNC equipment in a temperature controlled environment. This precision machining insures uniformity of product, fit and long term function each and every time.
  • Low Profile Design – Less protruding than traditional OEM designs provides compact envelope while allowing additional clearance for ease of use.

Features:

  • All NFPA 1963 dimensional requirements are CNC machined for superior quality, fit and function.
  • Material lot and product traceability maintained throughout the manufacturing process.
  • Optional – Laser etching available for custom marking and identification.
  • Low-profile assembly, standard cap extends approximately 1 3/4″ from metal face.
  • Draining slots in gasket groove deters ice buildup in colder climates for year around reliability and performance.
  • Optional – High security stainless steel attachment cable.
  • Tamper-resistant design – Use of spanner wrench required with 20-60 ft/lb assembly torque in order to inhibit unauthorized operation.
  • 350 psi operating pressure standard and assemblies tested to over 1,400 psi to insure 4:1 safety rating required for UL approval.

Storz assemblies meet or exceed all of the following specifications:

  • ANSI / AWWA C502
  • NFPA 1963
  • NSF / ANSI 61
  • Hardcoat Anodized per Mil-A-8625 type III, class 1 for long life and dependability.
  • All forged aluminum components made to ASTM B 247 specifications
  • External lug porting prevents foreign material and debris buildup inside of waterway.
  • Assembly catch per DIN standards eliminates need for external locks
  • All Storz assemblies utilize a metal face sealing surface and pressure/delivery gaskets are injected molded using nitrile rubber for extended performance.
  • Available in standard or 1 1/2 pentagon nut configurations.
  • Made in the USA – Using 100% domestically sourced material and product suppliers. Manufactured using advanced automated machining process with ISO 9000 certified quality assurance systems.
